At Antwerp the headquarter of the 89th armycorps was located. They had the command over the entire Belgium coast and later also Walcheren. The 89th armycorps was divided in three divisions (sectors): KVA A1 (covering Walcheren and both bevenlanden and the area around Huijbergen) , KVA A2 (covering Terneuzen till sourth part of Blankenberge) and KVA A3 (covering the area of sout Blankenberge till the French-Belgium border).
In park Den Brandt two commandbunkers of typee type SK 1 are build for the commanders of the 89th armycorps. One of the bunkers is today a museum
A few hundred meters from park Den Brandt you can find the Wilrijkseplein where the communication centre of the headquarter was located. This was a bunker type 618 and the crew was housed in two bunkers of type 622 In the stadspark the headquarter of the abschnitt Antwerpen was located. The location have two commandbunkers of type 608 and a crewbunker type 622 en een manschappenbunker van het type 622.
