Verteidigungsbereich Den Helder































The most northern part of Noord Holland was protected for enemy attacks from the inland. As from Julianadorp from the Northsea coast till the ijselmeer there was a tankditch, in the dunes there were antitankobstacles (Hocker). Against enemy attacks from the seaside the Germans build five coastalbatteries. And to secure the airspace above Den Helder three anti aircraft batteries were placed. A big piece of the bunkers are demolished but there are also a lot of bunkers remaing, among which a few very rare types.
