A short story about me to introduce myself.
My name is Remco de Goede I'm 27 years old and live in Spijkenisse (the Netherlands).
As a little boy I was always fascinated by the second World War. My interest in bunkers started when I go for a walk with my parents as a little boy in the former fortress of Hellevoetsluis.
It was always thrilling to look in al the bunkers of the former dutch marinebase. As from the year 2000 when I drive to the supermarket in my mealbreak I always past 3 bunkers in the backyard of a house ( 2 light constructions and a 622 personallbunker) from that moment I realised that there must remain a lot more of that Atlantikwall which I heared about sometimes. From that time I was interested in bunkers again. I bought a few books about the Atlantikwall en started the fieldwork. The websites of www.Bunkerpictures.nl and www.bunkersite.com helped me a lot of finding the different places, and also google earth in combination with a navigationsystem made the fieldwork easyer.
With this website I like to show al my pictures to the world to enjoy and inform people about the bunkers and the locations.
Offcourse as a bunkerfreak I will ask you to respect the bunkers and the nature when you are visiting the bunkers. When a bunker is on private property always try to get permission from the owner to avoid problems.
