Pantherstellung
At the 26th of October 1944 a few months after the allied invassion in Normandie, the german highcommand give the order to build the
Pantherstellung. This defenceline started at Amersfoort and ended in Veenendaal and moved partyly ou to Nijkerk and Hoevelaken. The reason of this defenceline was to protect the western part of the Netherlands.
In the western part of the Netherlands the launch instalations of the V2 rockets were placed here. The defenceline consist about 25 bunkers of type 703 (Schartenstand fur 8.8 cm Pak 43). A big part of the bunkers are demolished these days (Of which 1 in the beginning of 2007). Today ten bunkers remain.
